Africa continues to suffer from a shortage of fertilizers due to the Russo-Ukrainian conflict and the difficulty of sourcing the raw materials necessary for their production.

Nigerian farmers are announcing a limited corn campaign and observe that the plants are underdeveloped. The low productivity supports the rise in food prices and reinforces food insecurity. In Nigeria, 40% of the population is undernourished.

Food insecurity is also exacerbated by the reduction in Ukrainian cereal exports for the same reasons.
