The African Development Bank's Strategy for Climate-Smart Agriculture in Africa

Founded in Abidjan in 1964, the African Development Bank (AfDB) aims to finance the economic development of African states. Climate-smart agriculture consists of a set of practices intended to improve agricultural yield and productivity while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It also aims to enhance resilience to climate variability. In this field, the AfDB has implemented a strategy to develop this new model of agriculture and benefit African countries. This strategy consists of several key points, including technical training for local farmers, promoting both innovative and environmentally friendly technologies, and investments in infrastructure, R&D, sustainable management, and access to finance and markets.
